Vulnerability and stress

What happens when a person who has developed some vulnerabilities then experiences stress?

A person who is vulnerable could find it more difficult to cope. If a vulnerable person experiences long periods of stress or intense stress as well, all kinds of things can go wrong.

As our coping skills are overloaded by our emotions, our ability to cope starts failing. The demands that are coming our way then seem impossible to handle. One becomes seriously confused and eventually one may be drawn into a spiral of breakdown.
